The 8th Paisley Brownies and guides meet weekly for girls aged 7 to 14 years all welcome. We follow the girlguiding programme which is varied and gives us lots of opportunities to learn new and interesting things.
This session the girls have worked on the be well theme which looked at first aid, health and well being for themselves and others. Now The brownies are now doing the make change theme and the guides are doing survival skills theme to help them when we go to our international camp in the summer.
We go on outings and trips like sleepovers in the science centre and wander the world in places like Edinburgh and Dundee. We go on an indoor campeach year and and this year we are doing our first outdoor camp. The girls are involved in how the unit is run as girlguiding is a girl lead organisation.
The Brownies and Guides had a busy time before Christmas with their coffee evening and a visit to Build a Bear at Braehead where they all got to make a new furry friend. We finished the session with an old fashioned Christmas party.
We started the new session with a Guides only movie night with lots of sweets and pizza.
The next few months are busy with most of us going to Dundee in February for a Girlguiding Scotland Thinking Day event, the girls who are going to camp in the summer are going bowling to meet up with the other Guides from Paisley who are going to camp and then the guides are all going to a sleepover at the Science Centre in March with other Guides from Scotland.
We are busy doing our badge work and learning lots of new and interesting things.
We still have spaces in our units and would love to welcome some new members. Girls aged 7-14
